A friend and I have amassed a few nice examples of techy goodness lately:
From left to right, you can see a Dragon 32 computer with a Radioshack monitor fresh from the 80s, my 2006 Acer tower PC and the crown jewels of Sony and Microsoft’s respective empires, the PS3 and Xbox 360.
It’s quite nice to see the very different pieces of tech together; it’s kind of like a time capsule on a shelf. All four objects function perfectly (despite the Acer and the Xbox being slightly stripped down) so it’s a very clear example of how technology has developed over time.
I can imagine some people will be interested to see how the Dragon 32 runs, seeing as it is effectively a relic from the dawn of the home computer era, so I intend to go a little more in-depth with it once I’ve figured it out a little more. It’s very basic technology, but as most of you may be aware, back in those days in order to operate a computer like this one, you need to have some knowledge of a coding language (BASIC, if you’re wondering). Hopefully however, this shouldn’t be too difficult (I assume, going by its name).
For now though, marvel at the techy timeline you see before you. A reason to rejoice for all geeks everywhere.
