As a trainee journalist, I’m always on the lookout for ways to get my foot in the door. Most recently, I was introduced to an offer given out by the massive mixed-media online juggernaut that is Cracked.com, allowing anyone with the ability to write good content to sell them their work.
Now, I of course intend to give this a try at some point in the near future, but for now, I’d like to draw your attention to the site itself. I was already a passing fan of this site before being put onto their generous opportunity, so I know already why they’re so damn popular – the humour is gut-tearingly good, the writing quality can only be described as off-the-freakin’-wall, and they often present their work in their famed and somewhat unique list format.
Also working to their favour is their willingness to accept and publish work about pretty much anything, from annoying jokes to unorthodox – yet believable – theories on cartoons. The huge variety of content combined with the consistent list style is effective to the point that attempting to read a single article on the site is impossible; you will always find yourself looking at another article that catches your interest. Without fail.
The only thing left for me to do at this point is allow you to judge for yourselves how good this site is, so here’s a link for you:

There. Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s time for me to disappear for yet another indeterminable amount of time while I think about how I intend to get published by these guys. That’ll be the day…
