So, here it is at last. 7 years, £27 million and far more drama than is necessary later, the magnificent, totally unmissable spectacle of British pride that was the London Olympics Opening Ceremony finally came under way… And I was at work.
So I’m afraid I can’t tell you in depth what it was like, because I really don’t know.
Of course, I wouldn’t say I’m upset about missing it, because frankly, I really don’t care. Still though, the opening ceremony is the only part of the entire Olympic season that interests me, so I’ve pretty much missed out on the entire London Olympics.
Oh well. I guess there’s still the closing ceremony to look forward to. And I will be looking forward to seeing the back of this. In the meantime, I heard a joke earlier which tickled me, to say the least:
They’ve finally found a role for David Beckham for the Olympics. He’s going to be the chief javelin catcher.
Hahaha. Haha. Ha.
That’s probably as good as it’ll get, really.
